Watch the clip below. The pop star, who dropped her new album ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ today (Friday July 24), shared the list during a wide-ranging interview on SPIN‘s Lipps Service podcast.

Towards the end of the chat, host Scott Lipps questioned her to run through her“Top five Charli XCX songs of all time”. She responded:“Oh, God. I’m gonna get it wrong, I think, but… OK, one would be maybe like the first song I officially released, which is called ‘Stay Away’.

It’s from my [debut] album ‘True Romance’. “I just love that song. I think for me it’s very sentimental, just because it was the first sort of official song I put out.

I still to this day kind of go back and listen to it, and I’m kind of like, ‘Wow! That was really cool’.” Charli went on to shout out ‘Next Level Charli’ from her 2019 self-titled album, stating that it“Feels really euphoric”.

Next up was the ‘365’ remix with Shygirl, which appears on her ‘Brat’ remix record. “I really, really love that song,”she stated, describing it as“The ultimate party song because it’s actually also kind of sad”. She went on:“It’s kind of about not knowing when to leave the party, which I really have an issue with.”

Charli then applauded ‘Track 10’ from her 2017 mixtape ‘Pop 2’, calling it“One of my most favourite songs I’ve ever made”. She closed out the list with 2015’s ‘Vroom Vroom’ –“The first song I ever made with SOPHIE“. When asked to single out a highlight from ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, Charli picked closer ‘No One Lasts Forever’ featuring David Cronenberg.

Charli had shared the singles ‘Rock Music’, ‘SS26’, ‘Wink Wink’ and ‘Camera’ ahead of dropping ‘Music, Fashion, Film’ in full. She debuted the latter track at an intimate Brooklyn pop-up show earlier this month, before heading to London for a tiny gig at Scala.
