Rapper Victor Kamenyo has broken his silence following allegations by his baby mama, Ruth Akoragye, accusing him of neglecting their son. The musician states the accusations stem from disagreements over financial decisions regarding their child’s upbringing rather than a refusal to support him. According to the singer, Ruth insisted that he continue paying Shs 40,000 every day for Uber rides to and from school, an expense he felt was unnecessarily high despite the availability of cheaper transport options.
She informed me when the son makes three years, he starts school, but every day she was asking for Shs 40,000 for Uber and I saw that’s a lot of money because monthly that’s Shs 1. 2 million and Shs 3. 4 million a term.
She insisted on it and I stood as a man and refused. Kamenyo added that the disagreement over transport costs marked the beginning of their ongoing conflicts. He asserted Ruth eventually chose to continue paying for the Uber services herself after he declined to meet the expense.
Kamenyo further disclosed that the school had already offered their son a bursary, reducing the daily school fees to Shs 15,000. However, he states meeting those costs alongside the transport expenses, food, and other necessities became financially overwhelming, especially since both parents have older children to support. Even at school, they had given the kid a bursary to be paying Shs 15,000 per day and we both already have other older kids.
I couldn’t pay that amount plus Uber money, then food and other necessities, and it’d shoot to Shs 100,000 every day, so I couldn’t manage and this made her furious. I ask for her forgiveness, but I couldn’t strain myself. Kamenyo maintained that his decision was based on financial realities rather than neglect, stating he simply could not commit to expenses he believed were beyond his means.
