Former Major Brother Africa housemate Esther Akankwasa Namuddu has disclosed that her time on the reality TV show left her deeply shaken, stating the experiences she encountered behind the scenes were so disturbing that they pushed her into depression after returning to Uganda. Namuddu, who represented Uganda alongside Stella Nantumbwe, popularly known as Ellah, on Major Brother Africa: Hotshots in 2014, stated she reached a point where she no longer sought to remain in the house. Speaking about her experience, she asserted she and fellow housemate Frankie questioned to leave the competition early, promising they would never publicly disclose everything they had witnessed.
We questioned to leave with Frankie and stated we wouldn’t tell anyone what we experienced but just sought to leave. I didn’t want to be there anymore. Namuddu stated she fell short of interest in fame immediately after the competition, canceled post-show promotional tours to different countries, and avoided making public appearances for years.
The former reality TV star further disclosed that the experiences she encountered left her emotionally scarred. She described what she witnessed as“Satanic”and stated it made her fearful, leading her to isolate herself at home while battling depression. During that difficult period, she stated she eventually found hope after meeting someone who encouraged her, adding that she later developed an interest in studying astronomy as part of her personal journey of healing.
