Samsung Electronics has introduced its latest smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9, bringing new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered health and fitness features to users. The new devices are designed to help people better understand their health by simply wearing the watch throughout the day and night. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 offer improved comfort for all-day wear, a brighter display that is easier to read outdoors, longer battery life, and faster performance.
They are powered by the new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, which uses advanced AI technology to deliver quicker performance while using less power. According to Manish Jangra, Head of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics East Africa, the new smartwatches were developed to support the active lifestyles of consumers across the region. He stated the devices combine advanced health tracking, durability, and stylish design, making them suitable for people who exercise regularly, monitor their sleep, or simply want a smartwatch that can keep up with their busy daily routines.
The new Galaxy Watch lineup works closely with the updated Samsung Health app, which acts as an AI-powered health assistant. The app collects data from the smartwatch and provides users with personalized insights into their physical activity, sleep quality, and recovery. Using AI, the Samsung Health app can also offer recommendations based on a user’s daily health information.
These insights help users understand how prepared their body is for the day and support healthier lifestyle choices. Samsung has also improved battery performance on the Galaxy Watch9. The 40mm version comes with a 390mAh battery, while the 44mm model features a larger 445mAh battery for extended use.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is built for users who need extra durability. It features a strong titanium body with an IP69K rating for enhanced resistance to dust and water, as well as a large 800mAh battery designed to last for several days on a single charge. To further support users’ health and fitness goals, Samsung Health introduces AI-powered features such as Energy Score, which measures overall energy levels, and Daily Cardio Load, which assists users balance exercise intensity and recovery.
An updated Vitals feature also tracks overnight body measurements to provide a better picture of overall health. Samsung has also made it easier for Galaxy smartphone users running One UI 9 to manage their devices. A new Warranty and Care section allows users to check their warranty status and run self-diagnostic tests directly from their phone’s settings.
Fitness enthusiasts purchasing either smartwatch will receive a free 60-day trial of Strava. The beloved fitness platform allows users to track workouts, discover running routes, connect with other athletes, and share their achievements directly from their smartwatch. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 are designed to work seamlessly with other Samsung Galaxy devices, creating a connected ecosystem for health, work, and everyday life.
