A Saudi prince was found dead inside his luxury London hotel room last November, with CCTV footage later confirming he had been alone in the hours before his body was discovered, an inquest has heard. Prince Abdullah bin Fahad bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Jalawi al Saud, 29, was found lying fully clothed on the bathroom floor of his fifth-floor suite at the Marriott Hotel. Hotel staff broke into the locked room after repeated knocking went unanswered.
Security personnel and paramedics rushed to the scene but were unable to save him. Abdullah had checked into the Kensington Hotel on November 19, intending to stay for a week. He never made it to the end of that stay. The inquest revealed that Prince Abdullah had been fighting substance misuse for some time before his death.
The Sun reports that the coroner concluded there was nothing to suggest the prince had intended to take his own life.
